Free Education and Support We understand that some first time users may not be familiar with the use & function of an ultrasound scanner. Our ultrasounds are fairly simple to use, very functional and down right fun. However in an effort to bridge the gap of knowledge that may exist we provide additional support for users to insure success.
Included in the purchase of each ultrasound is 2 hours of free support from Dr Steve Purdy, Director of the Camelid Studies Program at U Mass Amherst. Dr Purdy will provide support via the phone or on-site at the Camelid Studies farm at U Mass in Hadley, MA. This support is scheduled with Dr Purdy by the user and additional support is available if desired for a fee.

FAQs & Tips
What’s the difference between the different probes?
- Higher MHz - more clear, less depth
- Lower MHz - less clear, more depth
- Waterproof probes allow the user to do transrectal scans by inserting the probe with the hand on larger species such as cows and horses.
- Rectal probes will detect a pregnancy sooner however one needs to know how to use a rectal probe to avoid injury
- Transabdominal – from left side from 40 to 80 days of gestation, right side after 80 days of gestation
Use Iso alcohol for transabdominal ultrasounds instead of gel as transfer medium. The alcohol fills the voids in the hair shafts and provides better transmittance.
All of our Ultrasound kits come with a Metal Carrying Case
The scanner comes in an Aluminum case, which is small and lightweight and strong to protect the scanner and make it easy to transport. |
