| Because some of the AVA/LLE line of equipment is made of powder coated steel and heavy duty Tuff Sheet plastic there is some weight to these products. We continue to work with our carrier and customers to keep shipping to a minimum. Many customers have been pleasantly surprised that the freight was less than they imagined. Shipping Rates/Quotes: Our shopping cart will calculate the shipping charges for any order to a US or Canadian location automatically. For shipping to international locations please contact us via e-mail for more info. To calculate the shipping charges add the items you’d like to purchase (or get a freight quote on) to the shopping cart and enter your zip or postal code and then use the “update cart” button to calculate the shipping charges. Canadian customers will be responsible for all taxes and duty. We will work with your broker or ours. Shipping quotes for destinations outside the continental US and Canada will be gladly provided upon request.
Product will be shipped via Con-Way, or UPS. We have a national discounted contract rate with Con-Way & UPS to keep the shipping rates as low as possible. UPS is used for smaller items that fit their size restrictions. Shipping Options: Our web site will calculate the basic shipping option from our warehouse. At times there may be other options for shipping your order that may reduce the freight. West coast customers may be better served if their order is shipped from the manufacturer. I can provide custom shipping quotes on request. PLEASE DO INQUIRE. Shipping Confirmations: Once your order is shipped we’ll provide an e-mail confirmation that it’s on its way (usually within 24 hrs) Your confirmation will include info similar to this: Below is a confirmation from Con-Way that includes the Pro # for tracking as well as the expected delivery date. You can use this link freight.con-way.com to access the tracking feature to check the progress of your shipment if you’d like. Insert your Pro # in the “Track” window. Please check to confirm that your delivery address is correct. If not please contact me immediately. Please contact your local service center (which can be located using this link Con-way Service Center) on the day before the expected delivery to coordinate your delivery. This will save time for the carrier and the recipient and reduce the potential for 2nd attempts that can result in additional fees. Someone will have to meet the driver to help unload. The driver is responsible for getting it to the end of the truck. In the unlikely event that a damage claim is needed, a notation of damage on the original bill of lading will be required. Please check all products over very carefully while the driver is there and note any damage on the bill of lading before the driver leaves. The driver must get what Con-Way calls an “exception number” that documents the fact that there is damaged product. Please also notify me of any damage within 24 hours so I can start the claim process. NO CLAIMS FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE CAN BE MADE TO CARRIERS BY LLE AFTER THE DRIVER HAS LEFT. Any claims not documented by the customer w/ the driver will be the responsibility of the customer and will require a call by the customer to the local Con-Way service center within 24 hours notify them of the damage and ask about a claim. Original invoice copies will come separately through the US Mail. Thx for your purchase and please let me know when all gets there that everything is in order. PS Assembly instructions, if needed, can be found on our web site at www.LightLivestockEquipment.com Shipping Days: We ship large LLE products (such as chutes, feeders & panels) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on what we call shipping days. Combining shipments to three days of the week is more efficient from a labor and freight rate standpoint. By combining orders to 3 days in a week we avoid charges from the carrier and help preserve our discounted contract rate. Minimum Shipping Charges: There are minimum charges to move any kind of freight. The cost to roll the truck into my facility to load and the cost to roll into your location to unload are the same whether the driver is handling one pallet at 200 lbs or 3 pallets at 1500 lbs. Therefore the price for shipping one 4’ Double Sided Feeder at 100 lbs is the same as it is for two 4’ DSFs at a total of 200 lbs. Depending on distance, 300 - 400 lbs of product is an approximate breaking point under which all shipments cost the same to move. Damages: While every effort is made to handle and package your order with care some scratching and scuffing is inevitable in handling the products. And while we have worked with Con-Way to determine the best way to package our materials to reduce damage in transit damages do sometimes still occur. In the unlikely event that a damage claim is needed, a notation of damage on the original bill of lading will be required. Please check all products over very carefully while the driver is there and note any damage on the bill of lading before the driver leaves. The driver should get what Con-Way calls an “exception number” that documents the fact that there is damaged product. As long as the damage is well documented on the BOL, we’ll handling filing a claim with Con-Way and providing replacement products at no charge. Group/Regional Orders: We have worked successfully with two farms combining orders all the way up to regional farm groups that consolidated orders for the advantage of their membership. We can combine orders for any number of farms to ship to one farm or other business and reduce the shipping costs. As outlined above, there are minimum charges to move a shipment. By combining orders these base charges are spread over multiple orders therefore reducing everyone’s shipping costs. The ordering process is very easy for group members. Case study on Group/Regional ordering We will handle all of the following: Accepting the orders via whatever method each member chooses (phone, e-mail, web order, fax) Process all payments (check or credit card) Coordinate the consolidation and shipping of all orders to one location Calculate the shipping for each group member’s order prorated on the freight of each order as a portion of the whole. Invoice each group member directly with the appropriate amount of reduced freight. Simple and cost saving Questions? Please contact me for a freight estimate or to discuss shipping in general. Thank you!
